On The Trails

While out on the trails, there is much to encounter! The possibilities are endless, ranging from animals of all kinds to the wonders of nature that the Painted Desert and Arizona country offer.

Cattle

The cattle you will see on your experience are a mix of Angus cross, Herefords, Corrientes, and if you are lucky you might be able to spot the only Texas Longhorn, Daisy. All of these cattle provide the income we live off of, and are a valuable asset for our business.

Horses

Due to the remote nature of Painted Mesa Ranch, horses are easily our most valuable tool. Without them we would not be able to properly check on the cattle, check fences, or check waters.

Wildlife

Northern Arizona is home to a diverse population of wildlife. At Painted Mesa Ranch you might experience the opportunity to spot Coyotes, Mule Deer, Elk, American Pronghorns, lizards, multiple birds, and the occasional Road Runner. All of these animals coexist with our cattle and horses.

Views

Painted Mesa Ranch is on the Painted Desert of Northern Arizona and neighbors the Petrified National Forest. While on your ride, you will get a unique view of Arizona's natural wonders, like petrified wood and one-of-a-kind rock formations. There are also Native American petroglyphs, which you will get an up close look at while on the ride.

Challenge

Think you've got a sharp eye? See if you can be the first to spot the longhorn while out on the trails! She's out there, but pretty good at hiding.
